 A good look at the map - it's a straightforward route along the shores of Ullswater... but will this rain ever stop? |
| The rain drove horizontally
at the walkers and whipped the waves on the lake into breakers. A line of ducks flew low over the water - a dramatic picture had it been possible to take it into the teeth of the wind. The spots of rain on the camera are easy to see! |

The decison was made
to turn back rather than climb to the top of a ridge where the wind was fiercer. Here - sheltering in the lee of a barn wall - with a view! |

Some managed to squeeze into the bus shelter for a dry-ish lunch!

Others did their best outside... But you can't win them all. |

Everyone dried off in the afternoon at the Rheged centre with a walk around and a 40 minute dramatic film on the big screen.... The next walk will be in full sunshine all day - guaranteed !!! (?)
