Dinners
Photo Album
These dinners from 2006 onwards are for all parishioners whether walkers or
not
'Parochial Perambulations'
The 'monthly' walks are always very popular, with some fifty or so people taking part. Walkers include members of the parish and friends and a few people from other parishes, and there are nearly always a few children, any age as long as they are manageable - up to eighty or more! There are also plenty of opportunities for other activities. Those who do not want to walk or are unable to go far can spend a pleasant few hours browsing in villages like Grasmere, exploring Haworth, or just sitting by a lake and perhaps sketching or painting! The regular hire of a coach enables the walks to start in one place and finish in another. Over a period of more than twenty years parish walkers have explored the Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales, the Wirral and Derbyshire - and experienced every variety of weather. Some of the best days for walking weather have been two days after Christmas - a series of wonderful walks around Grasmere, Hawkshead or Coniston - and the worst was in the middle of June!
