	A charming town with a history stretching back to the Domesday Book of 1085, many fine timber-framed buildings and a 14th century church. Luckily many fascinating buildings have survived numerous attacks, a terrible fire in 1583 and several sieges.

Presented by the former pupils of the Vale School, Guernsey on 8th July 1990 to the people of Nantwich, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their evacuation to Nantwich during the German occupation of the Channel Islands in June 1940 and the hospitality shown by the people of Cheshire during the whole of the war until liberation in 1945

Around St Mary's church - a magnificent curtain (part shown left) telling the story of redemption, an old seat, a detail from a misericord in the choir to a wonderful new window to the glory of God
and in memory of a farmer and church benefactor, donated to the church by his wife.

There's a wealth of detail worth discovering on the walls and the roof - especially the 'Green Man' in several places inside and out......

Guides posted along the route made sure no-one got lost going from the service in the parish church to tea in the Central Methodist Schoolrooms..
